The seagull is coming

The seagull is coming.

Not until my grandchildren have returned home.
No post yesterday as a 10 year old girl and 9 year old girl arrived for a few days holiday. Lovely to have them stay but no time to think. 9.00 p.m. exhausted. Me, and a feeling I would be doing it all over again the next day.
We have been beach combing today. Great fun but lots of screams when a dead crab was spotted.
The results.

Swimming in the afternoon.
9.00 p.m. I am exhausted but we all had a great day.

I have been working on 2nd small piece in the "Coastline" series-- Sea Shells.
Still some work to do but a good collection of shells, with holes, from todays expedition.

Planning to place small bottles into seaweed box.
Tube of interesting small shells into hessian box and map box will hold feathers.

The seagull is being worked on. Fingers crossed it goes to plan.

Look in next week to see progress.

  1. Very fascinating, love what you are making, hugs, Valerie

  2. Your three new holey shells look good on your textile, as if they had always been there. Holes will also make it easy to sew them on.
Great to have a team of helpers to look for coastal objects and creatures. Many great artist have helpers.
Your little boxes look marvellous here, with their possible contents.

Three cheers for the seagull who is on his way!
    Happy flying, seagull!!!!

  4. Sorry about that again, they sneaked in while I was making a cup of coffee.

  5. Seagulls on the go - Yes !! Shells are lovely, all different and all types of finish - Matt, Gloss, Lustre, Eggshell, Satin and more. Love it, Awesome !!

  6. I'm so glad we got to see what secrets the tiny boxes will hold. Nice collection from scouring the local beach. Please no more teasing with the seagull...I can't take it...I need to see him now! :-)

  7. So you know my fingers are all crossed hoping he goes as planned!
